Circuit Court Clerk in Fairfax County Recognized for Public Service The Honorable John T. Frey, Clerk of the Circuit Court in Fairfax County, has been recognized for his achievements by professional associations, local government and by the Virginia General Assembly. The National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials and Clerks recognized the professional achievements of Frey and named him the 2006 Public Official of the Year. The Public Official of the Year Award recognizes a public servant who exemplifies a commitment to excellence in the field of deed recording. Frey was instrumental in the passage of Virginia’s first electronic filing statutes in the mid-1990’s and he implemented to the first land records electronic filing system in Virginia. Frey has served on the Fairfax Bar Foundation, President of the Metropolitan Circuit Court Clerks Association, Governor’s Appointee for the State Public Records Advisory Board and the Virginia Court Clerks’ Association. Frey has been Clerk of the Circuit Court in Fairfax County since 1992 and is seeking re-election as Clerk in the 2007 election. Frey has demonstrated exceptional leadership in Virginia as a constitutional officer. In addition to the national recognition by the National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials and Clerks, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution honoring John T. Frey for his professional contributions to the County of Fairfax in light of his national award. Legislators from Northern Virginia have prepared a House of Delegates Joint Resolution to commend Frey for his leadership in Virginia, for his automation of the land records recordation process and for his excellence in the administration of the court system.
